Sister Story: Rooted in Resilience

Founded in May 2020 in NYC by three sisters, NARY is more than just a brand—it is a tribute to heritage and survival. The company is named after our mother, Phannary, whose incredible strength led her through the Khmer Rouge genocide of the late 1970s.

After a period in history that claimed nearly two million lives, we felt a deep calling to give back to the country of our mother’s birth. NARY was born from a desire to honor the vibrant Cambodian culture that shaped our unique Khmer-American identities and to support a nation that continues to rebuild.

We’ve combined our collective expertise—honed through formal fashion education and years of industry experience in San Francisco and New York City—to bridge the gap between style and impact.
